Future Plans

During the many long months it took for us to obtain the Inn, we dreamed of the many different things we would do to improve the land and the building. We have had to do a lot of prioritizing. If we only had a million dollars… everyone has said this at one time in their lives. Funds for these dreams often have to be redirected, due to unforeseen circumstances, but the dreams will remain.

When we acquired the Fort Loudon Inn in June, phase one of the remodel was to redo all the common rooms of the Inn so we may begin to rent them out for private parties, classes, organization meetings, etc. Well when you open a can of worms…………. you get the idea. One thing leads to another but it was finally finished in the beginning of November. During that time we did do some minor repair on the exterior and the land. Only what had to be done to make the Inn presentable and safe for guests. Dream number one accomplished!!!

Spring 2007

With a building this large, something always needs repairing. In the spring of 2007 phase 2 (aka dream #2) will begin. The years have sure taken their toll on the exterior of this grand building. Although many repairs have been made through out the years, none of these repairs seem to flow together to make it look like one building. Although many windows have been replaced, we are in the process of getting estimated on the remaining replacement windows. This will be a small fortune in itself. We are also getting an estimate on siding the building. We know that it was originally a stone structure and that it has been stucco for years. If there is anyone out there that can guarantee us that if repaired in stucco it would not crack again or chip off, bring it on.

We would love to have a nice smooth uniform stucco building. Oh, we know there are products out there and a company that can do such work but we also know that it would cost a small fortune. OK, we will get the estimate!! Either way, the exterior will get done and once again there will be a grand looking building at the top of Main Street.

Mega deck is on the way. We are outdoor people. What could be better than relaxing on a wonderful deck with a cup of coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon and cocktails in the evening? For what ever our guests rent the Fort Loudon Inn, we will be happy knowing that they can spend some of that time enjoying the outdoors. This dream deck will begin at the back of the house off the kitchen and wrap around the side extending to the front steps. Access to the deck will be from the kitchen, and two entrances from the sun porch. Fan stairs will take you down to the privacy fenced in side yard to comfy lawn furniture and a pretty flower garden. Oh what a grand dream!
We hope it to become reality!!

Ongoing Remodeling

There are eleven efficiency apartments within the building that continuously need some kind of repair. These units are in grave need of updating and we plan to do this one by one.

Well that is enough for now! If we told you every dream, you would have nothing to look forward to when you come back to visit the web page. Just know that there is sooooooooooooooo much more!! Come visit us up at the Inn anytime!!
